Once created, why can't I change a calendar event from one calendar to another?

Once created, cannot change a calendar event from one calendar to another.

I have a Samsung Galaxy S4 from Tmobile.
I have set up the default calender app to sync with my work and personal calenders (both gmail). The problem is that once they are created I can't change which calender they are on (at least not if it is made as being on my personal calender or work calender and then snyced). I can make other edits to the event, but the small circle with the arrow in it that should be next to the calender name is not there.

Welcome to Android Central! Are you using the stock Samsung Calendar, or Google Calendar? It's definitely a shortcoming of the Google Calendar app--you have to go to Google Calendar on the web to change an event from one calendar to another.
