I have had no issues with LTE in the states. I also was able to use it in Iceland with no issue.
The OP3 has received a number of updates and the last one included the Sept security patches. I am VERY pleased with the phone. I also have a Note 7 and have to say, I like the OP3 better overall. (yes the Note 7 is better in a few ways, but overall, I have yet to use a phone that is as fluid as the OP3).
Oxygen is very close to stock android, so if you like a Nexus feel, this is closer to that experience with its own tweaks(which I like overall)
I would look at some of the OP3 youtube reviews and reviews on some of the reputable android sites.
