OnePlus 7 Pro Verizon Text Issues

Just received the OP7P and spent an hour on the phone with OnePlus and Verizon. I can't receive texts on my OPP7. I can send text, but can't receive them. OP is saying it's a service provider issue. Verizon is saying that the OPP7 isn't compatible with their network.

What kind of phone did you come from? I had an iPhone X with VZW and attempted to just swap the SIM into the OP7P and couldn't receive any texts. Only sending works. I had to get a new SIM to have it working.

Just make sure you put the sim back into the iPhone and disable iMessage and FaceTime while connected to the VZW newtork before getting the new sim if you haven't done so already. This will ensure you de-registered those services from your phone number.

Also make sure you add your OnePlus 7 by choosing Add a Device online instead of just swapping the SIM over. I used that process and it's worked perfectly since the beginning.

I did all of the above and I can't receive texts... My phone is updated to OS 9.5.7. I got a new sim and registered the device. Still no dice. Shouldn't be this hard...

Try going on apples website and de-register your phone number from iMessage and FaceTime.

I don't think that's the issue. I'm receiving texts without issue when I put the sim card into my Note9. I getting ping ponged between Verizon support and OP.

That's strange. As soon as I popped my new sim in, my OP7P was beeping like crazy with all the previously unreceived texts finally coming in. That lead to believe it was on VZW side.

Third time was a charm. Got a tech from Verizon who listened and activated the CDMA-less feature. Thanks all for the help!!!

It's interesting that the stock messaging app doesn't identify individuals in a group text. I guess I will have to use Android message

Just ordered the Nebula Blue OP7P and I'm coming from an iPhone X on Verizon... hoping its not going to be a headache to get the phone activated...

For those that needed to get a new SIM, did you just go the closest Verizon store or did they have to ship it to you?

So did you have to call Verizon to activate CDMA-less and get a new SIM... or no?
