A dumb question here. I've never ordered a phone online. I always just go to the store.

When my phone is delivered, what's the process? I call Verizon to switch my phone over?

I'm more worried about my unlimited data plan and making sure it get's migrated over to my new phone. How do I make 100% sure that happens?

Thanks

If anything ordering online will probably be the easiest way to make sure you keep your current data plan because you'll get a choice to keep everything current or change something if you want. If you buy it in the store you just have to make sure you tell the rep that you know you get grandfathered in with unlimited data so you want to keep it.

Be Careful!
If you buy online - for now at least- it's the GSM version that does NOT work on Verizon.
You have to buy the CDMA version (2 versions of this phone)....
So i would make sure it works on Verizon before you buy.

And when you receive, you just have to call Verizon to port your number over...

Plus you get to be the first person to touch it. You don't have to have the reps grubby hands all over your phone, or it slammed on the counter, etc.

Speaking of online ordering, I checked to see if I was eligible for an upgrade on Amazon's wireless page, but it returned that I am not.

I then went to check on Verizon's official page for my account and it does indeed say I am "eligible for a discount".

What's the deal here? Is Amazon getting the wrong information? How would I go about updating it?

Thanks, and sorry for any derailings!
