Online orders are a go!

Just ordered online. Got my new every two upgrade discount of $50 and kept the unlimited data.
Order said will be shipped overnight. Come Friday, I will be having me some ICS.
 
Can I not just pay full retail if I have an upgrade available on the website? I don't want to upgrade I just want to buy the phone outright. Keeps asking me to pick a plan.

Josh K: I can honesty tell you from here, that promotion is false There is no $100 off the phone.
You: I am very certain that it is true. I spoke with 3 different reps and I have a friend that has the promotional flyer. It is either CH4GE in your database system. It hsould be on there. The rep told me to purchase it online first and the discount should be applied since Verizon knows I'm from Chicago but said if it doesn't to call you guys

Josh K: The only way its true, you would have to order it online today, and take the flyer into the store to get a $100 off your bill in the store.

You: Ok I will hold off on this then, to be honest there are people using that promo right now...I know its for a 3G user switching to a 4G, thanks for your time

You: Ive talked to 3 reps in the last 24 hours...you guys have been noting them on peoples accounts so that they do not have any problems when they purchase a 4G phone in a verizon retail location...this is a real promotion
Josh K: I'm sorry but I'm just letting you know, considering you won't be able to, that do't get your hopes up when the truth comes out, I'm sorry I can't prove it, is there anything else I can help you with today?

Tried doing the same, doesn't seem like the site will let you. Chatted with a rep and he said he had no idea why it wouldn't allow it, and that I'd need to call telesales or something.

ordered mine, free overnight shipping was auto-included just like with the razr. I have a big xmas party on friday and im going to be happy to have this new phone to show off.

now I just need to sell this fICSinate
 
I changed my plan about a week ago so when I went online to upgrade my phone, it wouldn't let me. I called VZW support to make it so I can upgrade my phone, and she asked what I wanted to upgrade to. I told her it was the Galaxy Nexus. Her next question was "Why do you want the Nexus?" So I told her: ICS, 4G LTE, Google, faster, beautiful screen, etc.

She then said that there were "some things to keep in mind" like the fact that all Motorola phones will "eventually get the 4.0 update", that there are other HTC and Motorola phones that perform just as well (read: their VZW DROID lineup) and that "the battery life on the Nexus is terrible. It's actually the worst of all of our phones."

Wow! They really don't want to sell any Nexii to us, do they? Makes me want it even more!

Purely out of fear that a customer may be happy with a new handset.
 
VZW site doesn't even ask me about my data plan. Only questions are for insurance. When I go to checkout for an upgrade is doesn't even mention that I have any plan. Is this normal for the website?

This is too funny.. I am in arizona and just finished my online order.
i ALSO had a chat with JOSH K! (unless every single online chat rep is named 'Josh K'

I asked him as well, about the $100 3G to 4G discount. he said it's not true. oh well.
I seemed to also have additional probs with my order, however he assured me all would be well and he even suggested i have the chat transcript emailed to me, so i can keep it as proof.

...Coming from an OG Droid.. it forced me to pick a new data plan. Josh assured me customer service would change it back after i activated it.
Also, i had no option for free overnight shipping.. had to select the $12.99 option for overnight Fedex.
Once again, Josh K said they will automatically ship overnight any phone over $149.99... so i won't actually be charged the 13 bucks..

it just seems so odd that different people have different online experiences.
I have read that many had no issues keeping their unlimited data.. as well as getting automatic free overnight..
oh well.
I will say this - Josh K was very friendly and I had no objections to the way our conversation went.

I was upgrading the primary line and mine also had no choices for unlimited data. It only had a line for line access for $9.99. So I called *611 and the girl I talked to told me to call in to activate to make sure that my plan stays the same. Plus I didn't get free overnight :/

I'm in AZ also and it was the same for me. That would be awesome if the shipping charge gets refunded. Although, I don't remember the thread, but someone mentioned that you actually had to call in to CS to get the refund.

I too had this issue. At first I thought I missed something so I cancelled and started over. When nothing changed I just continued with the purchase.

I will take your advice and call to activate. I'll kick a baby if I lose my data plan.

I tried to order online as well but it kept saying my current data plan is not compatible and I couldn't continue. I have the unlimited data as that's the plan I got since I bought the incredible when it first came out. Plan to try at the store when they open.
 
I ordered online and only got a 9.99 line access fee no option for my unlimited data. Hmmmm

Are the online orders Borked at the moment as it seems earlier people were able to get the data plan to stay as is and now it seems to be giving problems. Just a theory and its probably wrong.
 
I plan to buy the Nexus in-store in a couple of hours, but I added it to my online cart to see how the transaction would go. I had no trouble getting a -$50 discount (NE2 and an employer-related discount) and keeping my unlimited data.

How was your data plan worded when you went thru the order. Mine said something like unlimited web and email (personal) and that it was copatable with the phone. I am in a 4G market
