A few people have complained that the other bionic forum has gotten way off topic. While that may be so, we're having a good, fun conversation there. But, there continues to be contention sometimes. So, to stay civil and avoid name calling, I'm creating this thread. This thread is to be used solely for bionic jb news. If you have news, please post it here, and nothing else. Thanks, and let's nope we get some jelly beans before summer hits.

Soak emails are going out.

I'm new to these parts. Should be receiving my used Bionic from eBay in the next day or two (my Rezound died). First, how do you sign up to be a part of soak tests? Second, how long after emails are sent out does the soak tests typically roll out? Thanks.

You'll have to wait for your Bionic to arrive first (to view unique device ID numbers), but follow these instructions:

However, this will likely be the last major update for the Bionic so I'm not even sure it's worth your time to even try to become a soak tester.

Lots of talk on the other thread, if you didn't know. Rumors of the soak being any hour, and rollout next week. But, just rumors so far.

I also got the OTA update this morning. so far so good. everything seems to be working great. Battery life is questionable, but I will let it charge to 100% and let things settle in before I make any real judgement. Google Now works great for me

Battery life suffered for my phone after ICS as well, but it eventually settled down after a week or so. I expect JB to do the same.

I don't think my battery ever settled after ics. With 4g lte and everything else off (wifi,GPS,locservice,) my battery drains like crazy. The second I turn 4g off it lasts on 1% for hours in standby lol. I'm hoping jellybean helps my battery.

Well 4G by its nature is a battery hog. Don't expect there to be anything you can do or update that can be applied to "fix" it. What I use a lot if I want to have it last longer but still need data is the LTE on/off app to get into the settings that allow me to disable the 4G radio, and keep running 3G/CDMA (auto PRL).
