Every time I click a link embedded within GMail or Nine (email app) email, I get the popup asking whether I want to open links in Chrome or choose another app (I also have Firefox installed).

I tap "Always" open in Chrome, but the very next time I have to repeat the process. Over and over and over.

Why isn't my choice sticking? Anyone else?

Pixel 3XL with all current updates and no funny stuff (root, crazy games, etc.).

That happened to me once before not long ago (I don't remember what app) then it just started working one day without me even doing anything.

You know here's an interesting observation: what is the point of using chrome as a browser if we're able to open up any web page in the Google application? The Google application even supports full desktop viewing mode. Just out of curiosity...

But, can it open multiple tabs the way Chrome can?

Nope, excellent point. That's the only thing It can't do. Oh well. Haha unless you really need that feature I barely use more than one or two tabs at a time.

This happens to me with Swappa. I also have the Swappa app, but it never remembers that I want it always to open in Chrome. I'm guessing that it doesn't play well with some "duplicate" apps. Probably somewhere in the app programming, as I don't remember this being an issue with other app/chrome combinations.

So what I've done on my phone, is I still have chrome beta but it's not on my desktop I just used the Google app to open up websites quickly. number one I don't need to open a multiple tabs at a time during the number two I swear the rendering and full desktop mode is so much smoother and responsive and faster.

Is this happening in Pie or on Q beta? I never experienced this when on Pie, but now on Q, I dont get the option for "Always". I only get the option of "just this once" or "Never".

I use Samsung browser because it has night mode, so I always open Google results in that for that reason. Cannot stand blinding white pages.

True that for that I mean that's a good point I have realized that the Google application for websites desktop mode renders everything a lot faster than chrome does haha
