Optical Mouse: Do you find it useful?

I'm just curious if anyone actually utilizes the mouse for navigation purposes with any degree of regularity via normal every day use of the phone.

Sure, it's required for things like the Camera/Video Camera and ClockWorkMod, but (for me) I'd prefer a dedicated assignable button on the side of the phone vs. an optical mouse (that takes up screen real estate) on the front.

I never use the mouse, but I find it difficult positioning the cursor in text windows and never even think about the mouse. I'll give that a try.

I think its something you have to force yourself to use since the touch is so easy, but there are situations where it is really useful once you get accustomed to it.

I too had not discovered the cursor locating ability in text windows. May be using the OM more now!
I have noticed strange behavior. To swipe a screen "left" you swipe your finger to the left. Just the opposite with the OM.

Same. Recovery and picture taking, and only because I'm required to.

I use it everyday specially when I'm texting its easier to use the track pad then taping your finger at the letter

Had to vote Yes, because like others here I've found it very useful for positioning the cursor when editing text.

I VERY seldom use the optical mouse, even when taking pictures I just do the touch screen thing to auto focus and take picture both .

Agreed with the above. I only use it for editing text, but for that reason alone I like having it.
