Optimizing G4 battery thread

Either I have a dud or I'm doing something real wrong...

Most of today on auto brightness, one hour phone call, all day lte great signal.
Gmail sync off. most google services off actually. Only outlook and Facebook sync.

Using nova launcher, Swype keyboard, next lock screen. I have been using the phone as a mobile hot spot quite a bit though.

Grumble grumble.

Forgot to mention only two hours SOT

I wouldn't call that a dud by any stretch. Your pics show you are at 46% left so you have used 54%. So over 54% of battery life you have 2 hours SOT, a 1 hour call, and mobile hotspot use along with everything else. That isn't bad at all.

That Next lock screen is chewing thru some battery.

I suppose in a little miffed since I'm getting the same battery life as the Moto of 2014 I just left but on that phone I didn't try to actively save battery. I just did my thing. I thought this extra 1k mah if battery would make the G4 blow that out of the water.

The issue is I absolutely hate the LG stock lock screen, even the pin has lag when I'm putting it in. But that's neither here nor there. We'll see where I get after having the hot spot turned off the rest of the day.

this is as far as I could get before I needed to plug in just for my own sanity. I have a few things I need to do and 30% just ain't gonna cut it. but with constant use of the phone throughout the day, I feel good with where it was at.

Well here we are. End of day two.

This is 3 hours SOT with the last hour of it on 40 percent.

Several hours of mobile hot spot, about 2 gigs worth.

Downloaded and installed several apps.

Hour long phone call.

Tomorrow agenda:
See if having stock lock screen and no mobile hotspot really give the lift I'm hoping for. Screenshots attached of why this pains me do (next is just that nice imo)

My Google App consistently uses at least twice the battery of my other apps. I've followed the recommendations in this thread, but that app is holding me back. What is causing this? Thanks in advance.

Left unplugged to compare sleepy time performance with my brothers s6 edge.

Not sure if inaccurate or incredible haha.

It went off several times too, couple texts, Facebook, and emails. All while light flow did it's led thing per my settings.

I finally see what you're talking about.. I had to set up my gmail as an IMAP account to see this.

I only see Sync intervals for Exchange, I can't actually find sync interval for Gmail itself. Can you?

Brightness at auto 75%, SOT 1 hour 17 minutes...battery is at 41%.

Here's the last hoorah.

Charging way before bedtime. My Moto x would not need this I swear.

Going to pop the SIM and use it tomorrow as normal, see what happens.
I'll try to get the same amount of SOT as well to make out even.

Scratch that, the G4 takes a micro SIM I mobile. The Moto x takes nano SIM

In the mean time the G4 is gonna be factory reset.
