I have an LG Optimus L90 D415 that has stopped recognizing the SIM card. Tried new SIM card, factory reset, refresh, no help. Finally, I disassembled the phone and found that several contacts on the SIM card reader had worn away to nothing. The SIM card reader is difficult to replace, because it it soldered onto the logic board. On some phones, the reader is attached to a removable flex board, but not on my phone. New readers are available on eBay. My wife has the same phone, and is beginning to have the same issue. This is a cheap phone. You can see that the contacts are missing/broken in two of the outer holes. They wore off, probably from the vibrate motor. I never took the SIM card out until this happened.

Welcome to Android Central! That's a bummer. But like you say, it's a cheap phone, and unfortunately you tend to get what you pay for. Were you in the habit of swapping out the SIM card frequently?

Never removed the SIM card until this problem occurred. I think the vibrate motor caused this. The phone vibrates on every touch when typing, etc. That is the default; I should have changed it.

Wow, that'd be strange! Is the phone still under warranty?
