that makes two of us. I'm trying to learn, if for no other reason than I want my good aps2sd support

btw I set up that irc channel that was requested

serv: irc.irchighway.net
port: 6667
chan: #OptimusSDev

Woohoo, got
build/tools/device/mkvendor.sh device_manufacturer_name device_name /your/path/to/the/boot.img
working. Now to get
lunch generic_device_name-eng
working (i.e. I cannot find the lunch command for the life of me).

Hey zefie not sure if this is the right spot to post but re formatted the phone to stock right got the update to push from the phone but when I went from the new recovery screen that's aqua blue it tryes to update but it says now can't verify meta-inf signature failed can't verify signature update aborted and that from fresh restart and updated thru sprint and are custom recovery could you tell me why its not verifyen the. Meta-inf file and I might be good to go

I'm in the channel too. I'm one step closer to Clockwork Mod working. I just need to figure out the lunch command.....

Ok, got past the lunch command, I was just running envsetup.sh when you need to do export envsetup.sh. Now to figure out what partition is the /data directory

And I have a working Clockwork Mod recovery :)

To bad it doesn't stick :(

Also if you have a file named install-recovery.sh in system/etc you will need to rename it to install-recovery.sh.bak prior to flashing a recovery.

if you don't it reflashes recovery by patching the boot kernel

http://android.smccloud.com/Optimus_S/smccloud_clockworkdmod.zip
http://android.smccloud.com/Optimus_S/flash_image.zip

Extract both files to the root of your sdcard
Keep in mind that its not my fault it this bricks your phone.

mount -o remount,rw -t yaffs2 /dev/block/mtdblock5 /system

cat /sdcard/flash_image > /system/bin/flash_image

chmod 755 /system/bin/flash_image

mount -o remount,ro -t yaffs2 /dev/block/mtdblock5 /system

flash_image recovery /sdcard/recovery.img

Also if you have a file named install-recovery.sh in system/etc you will need to rename it to install-recovery.sh.bak prior to flashing a recovery.

Camera button selects a menu item in the recovery.

Here's a hint ...

"if you have a file named install-recovery.sh in system/etc you will need to rename it to install-recovery.sh.bak prior to flashing a recovery."

V9 has this .... V8 doesn't. If you don't do this you'll lose recovery and have to flash it each time... ask Beezy LMAO

EDIT - Nevermind. Looks like you got it figured out. I didnt see the later post with the info in it. Make sure it's fully baked prior to submitting it for inclusion to ROM manager. Koush can't test everything and it would be terrible to publish something with a showstopper bug in it.

P.S. .... Nice job! ::virtual high-5::
