Optimus Recovery Mode

Here's a hint ...

"if you have a file named install-recovery.sh in system/etc you will need to rename it to install-recovery.sh.bak prior to flashing a recovery."

V9 has this .... V8 doesn't. If you don't do this you'll lose recovery and have to flash it each time... ask Beezy LMAO

EDIT - Nevermind. Looks like you got it figured out. I didnt see the later post with the info in it. Make sure it's fully baked prior to submitting it for inclusion to ROM manager. Koush can't test everything and it would be terrible to publish something with a showstopper bug in it.

P.S. .... Nice job! ::virtual high-5::

I will test what I can, but I can't test everything myself either.

I want this for the t. :( I'm so jealous that the s is getting all the love.

Sent from my Optimus T

get me a boot.img from the T and i can try.

That would be sweet if you can hook them T guys^ up.;)

Yeah thats what I get for not following directions.lol

Ok, need to look at something beezy found and figure out how I can commit my stuff to github

smc you need to work on the clockwork recovery the partition mappings are all crazy. it thinks /dev/mtd/mtdblock5 is sd card and idk what its doing for boot but it fails to write.

I think /system, /data and /cache are correct but double check for safety.

you can run "cat /proc/mtd" to get the partitions, and sdcard should be /dev/block/mmcblk0p1

I will look again when I get home, but I think I can only specify so many partitions.

well, i have /dev/block/mmcblk0p2 for my main sdcard partition, /dev/block/mmcblk0p1 is my ext partition on my sdcard. i can specify the second in clockworkmod, but not the first one. i can't specify a partition for boot either. i have the following i can specify, data, datadata, system, cache & sdext :(

Ok, still working on getting boot to be mounted as /dev/block/mtdblock0

Having to edit the source code to do it. Means I'm gonna have to learn how to fork using git :(

I'm going to give up on ClockworkMod. Still haven't heard from the main developer on it.
