Option to, "Open With" gone?

I use 2 different browsers, Kiwi and Samsung, and I use Kiwi for certain Chrome extentions at certain times. I primarily use Samsung browser. Before the new OS update I was able to choose which browser I wanted whenever I clicked on links. Now, it only opens in one browser automatically. I haven't found an option to have it ask me which one to Open With. Did they take this away all together?

Go to your settings, apps, default apps and see if you have a browser set as a default. A idea to at least try

Thanks. That was the first thing I checked. It only let's me chose one or the other. It doesn't have the option to ask each time. Or at least I haven't found the option to be asked each time.

Install a new browser and you should get that selection menu again. You can delete it after that.

Thank you for the reply. I just tried this and it didn't work. I added 2 new browsers and it still only opens immediately in one browser. I guess it's not an option anymore?! That's really dumb.

I use Samsung Internet and Samsung Internet Beta, and I get to choose every time I open a web link. I'm on Android 12

You would have to go to settings >apps>3 dots upper right corner tap and reset app preferences but it resets all apps

You must of choose " always" when it gave the option instead of" this time only "so reset app preferences will get it back to same way it was before

I didnt choose anything. It just started doing it this way after the update. It never prompted me to choose one.

Install some (any) browser and set it as default ... after that uninstall it and then you will get what you are missing...

I didnt choose anything. It just started doing it this way after the update. It never prompted me to choose one.

He just has to install a third browser (assuming he already has two), put it under default and then uninstall it ... easier than that..

I agree that should work also and won't have to reset every app

I just tried this, and it didn't work either. Still opens in Samsung Browser. I tried 3 different links from 3 different places and all opened right away. I may have to try reset all. Smh. Thanks for the suggestions. I'll let you know what happens if I reset all app permissions.

I use Samsung Internet primarily and Chrome for my ambulance service.

I have a folder with websites in Chrome saved to my home screen. Anytime I need to access a website for the ambulance service, I click on the folder, then click on the website.

If I'm just browsing the web, I click on my Samsung Internet icon. I do these on both my N20U and my Tab S7+

Yeah strange but u can go to setting >apps>on the top tap default apps choose your browser

First, try going into Samsung browser settings and remove permission there. Samsung helped you with the last update by insuring their app is default.

If that doesn't work, try deleting Samsung browser cache, and data if possible, then the app itself. Reboot and try your alternate browser. Then reinstall Samsung browser.
Oops, you might lose your bookmarks deleting data.

I can't believe it till me this long to find this app. It's been on my phone for years and it just works. I couldn't remember the name .Look in the play store for, "open with"
