Oreo gripes

Just updated on pixel XL. It won't let me flip through recently used pages. When I tap the square button on the right it does nothing. Before I updated it would let me flip through recently used pages but now it does nothing. Only when I hold it does it let me use split screen but I don't want split screen. I want to be able to flip back and forth full screen like before. Is this something that was eliminated? Or a bug? Even Google support couldn't answer me.

Odd... I have a Pixel XL also and have no problem at all with that function.

Do you have any developer options enabled? If so, I would try turning them all off as there have been a few issues reported involving them.

* Do not disturb now it's not functionally;

* The battery is drenning fast (in 50 minutes of use).

Google, help us!

Ok one thing I do like is how the double tap to wake doesn't easily make the screen go full on, random swipes etc won't do it. Needs to be deliberate double tap.

Let's hear them

Do not disturb in notification tray now just straight up turns on DND, used to have a convenient thing that came up with a time to turn itself off.

Bunch of persistent notifications I can't turn off without tasker. At least allow me to turn them off, this is getting worse not better. Seems like turning them off kills the background process, breaking things like LightFlow.

Accurate color option still buried in developer options, not in display where it belongs.

Super annoying bright quick settings now. Can't wait for theming to work. How long have we been asking for dark mode again?
I love Oreo, but here's a gripe: the "compressed" resident notifications. Textra is an app I like having in the notification list, and now I have to hit it twice to open the app.

I don't think Textra updated it's app in awhile. Maybe the next or future update might change something on their end

Me too, and when you lift to see notifications it now takes a double tap to open from there so I can pocket it while it's lit and not worry about pocket dialing.

I'll pay more attention but I don't think that's happening for me. I believe I'm either getting the full size notification or the heads up one where you can read and reply in the notification. Might be a Textra setting?

Naa, that was just the example I used. Have it for several apps and notifications.

Wish I could take a screenshot of the notification pull-down!

You can!

Drag down the notification bar, then simultaneously press and hold for a few seconds the power button and the volume down button. If you have a hard time with the buttons, try removing your case.

Well the only ones I'm seeing compressed are LastPass and LightFlow, which IMO is perfect.
Ok here's what I'm seeing for compressed notifications:

Thanks, but really not the core of my point. I really don't remind that being there. What I don't want are the other notifications compressed such that it now takes two taps to get to them.
Not sure, any new Textra notifications are big and on top for me.

Ah, good point. This isn't a text notification, it's the resident textra compose notification.
Yes, old stuff gets shoved to the bottom and compressed. But if those other useless notifications aren't there that will leave that one big.
