Oreo rolling out?

I have a Moto Z and have the battery problem that started with the release of 7.1.1, as had thousands of others that I have noted on other blogs. I also lost my blue-tooth on an earlier release. Does anyone know if either of these problems will be fixed in the 8.0 release?

The battery drain may be resolved in Android 8.0. Every new Android OS claims to have "better battery life" so it's very possible this one will do it. As for the Bluetooth issue, that has also happened to many Z Play and Z Force owners, and I seriously doubt that will be resolved with any Android OS update. From what I have read the only fix for that is a replacement phone.

At this rate, I may get a new Z3 before my Z Force 1 gets 8.0.

Same. But unfortunately for us, that statement is music to Verizon's ears...

I have seen on other blogs that the replacement phones only work for awhile and then lose there bluetooth also. Mine needs more than just better. Mine can be at 100% and drop to 80% in ten minutes and it I reboot it, it will be at 2%. It definitely is a battery management software problem that started with the 7.1.1 release. I have my fingers crossed, but can't wait very long and if I have to replace, my next one will not be a Motorola.

I don't think we will ever see 8.1. with the Z3 series coming soon I think 8.0 is the last we see. So let's hope it's not as buggy as some Z Play users are stating.
I was wondering about that...not surprised that 8.0 will be the last...the ? is, will 8.0 come before or "after" the next (Z3) in the series

I have seen that also. But then there are those of us, myself included along with all 3 family members, that have never had a Bluetooth issue with a Z series phone. Our phones have been through multiple version updates and one replacement phone, and Bluetooth has worked flawlessly. I'm not trying to be a downer or crash the party, but I just don't see a new version of Android fixing a Bluetooth problem that doesn't affect every phone out there. If it affected every phone, then the Android version could be blamed. But for every user that posts Bluetooth issues on Forums, there are probably double as many that have no issues.

Same here, no noticeable bluetooth issues here or on my wife's Z Force. It's a shame that some are having this problem because it is such a good phone in many respects.

I agree with you that it doesn't happen to everyone, but it was a result of the update for those that had the technical conditions that conflicted. That being said, I hope it corrects the problem for those of us that have it. When I was in software development, we always tried to correct as many outstanding problems as possible with each new release. I have my fingers crossed that we even get it much less fix all the problems.

The update to 7.1.1 actually helped my bluetooth issues. Before it kept cutting out and I would have to reboot the phone and it would be good for a day. The update improved it, but didn't solve the problem all the way. You would think if you were going to get rid of an output jack that you would have bluetooth locked down. I am so unimpressed with Motorola. I don't think my next phone will be one (sadly I have to wait almost a year).

Well, it's 4 weeks now since the "check back in a few weeks" message appeared. At this point I'm hoping it's 4 "more" weeks as I'm scheduled to travel out of country next week (for several weeks) and I'd rather not have the update pop up while I'm traveling.

Sadly I will not get to try out oreo on this device. As it will no longer charge one bit. Wired or wireless... what a shame.

It's been tough waiting for Oreo, but so be it. There must be some serious issues with it, or we'd have it by now. My Z Force 1 works very well currently, and no update is worth a bunch of issues that make the phone function poorly.

I agree completely. Well said. My phone runs smooth right now. I would love to see Oreo, but only if my phone continues to run smooth, not buggy as hell.

Yup...the way I (and no doubt most of us) depend on this phone for so much, I need.it to perform without bugs. Even if the battery is not up to.par like at launch, I'm ok with carrying a power bank and have the phone do what I need.

well I had to jump ship and move to #teampixel
my moto z had such bad battery drain. It was fully charged and then without even touching it, it would drop 20%. Hope Oreo comes quick for you guys/gals.

Best of luck to you. You'll have to keep in touch regarding the Pixel's performance.
