I'm currently running BB v.4 and now the official 2.2 is being pushed to my phone, OS there some way to make the phone think i have downloaded it? because it seems like every half an hour it shows up and asks me to download this. Anything would be great!

I have the same problem. I'm running the rooted pre-release Froyo which works fine but I'm not dumping root to go full stock.

If you're running a custom recovery (SPRecovery or Clockwork Mod), you should be able accept the update and have the recovery block it which will get rid of the notification

Pete has a utility that blocks it... as I'm not on BB, I'm not sure how/what/where it is, but I'm sure you can poke around at his site and find out more. :)

I was on vacation all week since last thursday when I started receiving the OTA notification a few days ago. I was thinking to myself, WTF there is no way I'm doing this and going back to stock after loving droid life using BB v.04. I figured Pete would address this and right on the money he has indeed! :)

Try installing a different rom. I've been using sapphire 1.0 and right now Chevy's ss and I haven't had any update pop ups.

If you're running BB v.04 the patch will work like a charm. After I booted back up from installing it, I saw the OTA notification for a few seconds and then viola! it was gone for good.

I went back to stock and took the update. From what I can see it did not effect root. My son is currently using the phone for work. If possible I will try to flash a rom on to it and let you know the results.
