OTA updates should be disabled in root ROMs. If it is not and you are a rooted user, never download an OTA update.

There is an update being pushed now apparently. We need a non-root volunteer and a dev volunteer. I am not nearly advanced enough to know *how* just advanced enough to know *why*.

I'm asking a dev to volunteer to instruct a non-root volunteer on how to capture the OTA update and have the non-root volunteer send them the capture to modify so we can then flash the update to our rooted devices.

Any takers?

The update must be for patching up those malware apps, that recently got removed from the market place

I believe the most recent is a small software and firmware update. Nothing major but if you're rooted, do not eve download an OTA update. You can and probably will mess up your phone pretty badly if not irreparably.

If your device is stock with root, then installing an OTA update won't "mess up your phone". But, it may revoke root privileges, and possibly close the exploit used to enable root.
