How much hotspot usage would be too much to alert Sprint? Was doing an experiment last night and found I can run Netflix off of the Wii and my wifi...

Do u have unlimited data plan?? Cuz its unlimited lol... Til they see u download 20 gigs a month lol. I used to use mine at work... But it was on a Treo. I used to use between 10 and 15 gigs a month and never got a letter or charged

Should be... I believe the only thing that is limited is the minutes, which we share between 5 phones. I just don't want to get some nasty gram about my hot spot usage and wasn't sure if it was seperate from regular data usage... I sure don't want to be paying $30 for it either. :p

Much appreciated... was giving the babysitter the goahead to use it without thinking about it and immediately regretting my decision... lol.

Lol just make sure ur not downloading hella movies etc. As long as u use it when needed and not as your main source of internet you should be fine. To be safe don't do it like I did. I would try to limit it to under 10 gigs. Which would be hella regular data and surfing etc. Don't create a movie collection off of it hahaha.

I told her to limit it... she's got a rooted Optimus on my account... I'd like to keep it.

Make sure she isn't using torrents. Massive bandwidth hog since its norm large files ur downloading in torrents. I assume a young babysitter? That's why I mentioned torrents

She wouldn't know a torrent if it smacked her in the face so I doubt she'll be doing that. She'd be streaming Netflix.

Yeah, I was without internet for a while and used the hotspot to connect a few things. I think I consistently used 10-15 gigs for more than a couple of months and was never told anything.

Only problem I've heard if is with the PRL hack, ie roaming data. As long as you're on the Sprint network there should be no issue.

I use Nick's app to force my phone on roaming, sprints service is horrible in my area and last month i got 10.1 gigs data mostly on roam and no prob as of today.

Lol. Just be cautious if you plan to continue. Roaming data is the reason that Nick7 is on t-mobile now.

yea.. force roam too much and they will consider you not eligible for their services based off of your coverage... lame but makes sense.

A netflix-streamed movie could be compared data-wise to a low-quality xvid torrent... I would NOT stream netflix over hotspot, since your heavy data usage will attract attention, and it will not be difficult for them to see the OS and browser-related network packets and figure out that you are tethering.

And by chance would this terminate your contract without those pesky early termination fees?? You know... just curious... ;)
