Out of space both internal and external

I keep getting messages that my internal and external storage are running out of space. When I look there is just like up to maybe 200-500 megabytes of space left and it says 98 or 99 percent of space left. The message is popping up more often now.

I use the smart clean which doesn't do much good. I've uninstalled some apps but the rest of them I need and I am not one that installs tons of apps.

My 32 GB external SD card shows up as 64GB I don't understand that.

I've only had this phone 5 to 6 months. It says it's going to stop working if I don't get this cleaned up.

I can't even delete voicemails. I tried to install one of those file managers where you can see hidden files and it won't let me install it because there's not enough space.

I'm at a loss. Is there anyone can help? Thank you.

I send pics by text but not excessive in my opinion. Yes, have pics saved and that's why I want to view the internal storage so I can move them off the internal.

This seems suspicious. If the SD card is a counterfeit, that may be a big part of your problem.
Who made the card?
Where did you purchase it from?

SanDisk. I've had it and used it for many years so don't remember where I got it.

Have done that several times today but it doesn't help for long.

Sounds like you haven't done the obvious... Go to settings and storage, then check to see what's taking up so much space and how much space it's taken. Then, naturally, you could use a file manager to find and delete things you don't need.

Facebook messenger icons and web previews keep loading up my gallery app, in with my pictures. I view by date and check all of them for deletion, taking care not to check my pics in the process. I hate that messenger is regularly putting that stuff on my phone. See if there is any of that on your phone. Also I get rid of a lot of junk with CCleaner. You must select what files to clean. It gets easier as you become more familiar with it. It usually retains your choices for the next time. Check what cards are compatible with your phone. If your phone is newer your card may be an older type. Some older ones may not be compatible. Offload most of your videos and pictures.

Actually yes I have. By deleting some apps that I didn't want to delete I was finally able to install a hidden file manager.There is nothing in the folders except for a very small file here and there that I wouldn't delete because I don't know what they are it could be something that shouldn't be deleted.

I'm not finding that issue from Facebook. There seems to be nothing in my gallery that has been saved from Facebook.

Is CCleaner going to do a better job than the default smartclean?

The SD card is old that much I do know. But why after five or six months could it possibly not be compatible when it's been working fine all this time?

I can clean up the SD card when I get a little time. The issue that scaring me the most is the internal storage where I can find nothing no files of any size whatsoever that could be causing this and that is where the real problem is. It's constantly showing now at 98-99% full.

Download Data Size Explorer and see exactly what is using your storage.
CC Cleaner is worthless, and should be uninstalled.

Show of a screenshot of your storage screen. I'm getting the feeling you don't understand it.

Clearing up space and knowing what to delete isn't this complicated.
