Outlook agenda on S6 after last update not shown

My Samsung S6 (and now recently also on S4), does not install the Microsoft Exchange Active Sync account (from an Office 365 Business Premium account) anymore. It hangs on checking the credentials and connecting to outlook.office365.com. This started after the one-but-last-update of the Android system on my S6 (early December 2017).

As a work around, I now tried the Outlook app.

These credentials work fine when setting up the account in the Outlook app. Email comes in fine. However, no calendar data are synced. When looking up the menu where you can select which calendars to show (your own agenda, the Holiday Agenda and the Anniversaries Agenda), none of the boxes are ticked. When you tick the box for your own agenda, it shows 'checked' for a few seconds and then the checkmark dissapears again.

Of course, it does not show the agenda then....

Is this a known issues? Did people solve this problem?
