Hey Again, First of all, I just wanted to give thanks to everyone that helped me out when i soft bricked my phone last week.

Secondly, I am interested in flashing to 4.1, but have heard talk of JB being released for us Verizon GNEX owners later this month, Anyone know the validity of that rumor?

And lastly, i am still very new to this forum, and was wondering if anyone could point me in the direction of a guid to over/under clocking the verizon GNEX.

Thanks in advance :):)

The rumor - it's testing, but no idea about a time table.

Overclocking/underclocking - no real guide to that; you can check out the kernel portion of my Don't Panic guide for starters.

With that stuff, keep this in mind--when you overclock you increase your performance but decrease the battery life. With underclocking, the inverse is true. Regardless, both can get kind of risky if you do it drastically...like if your max CPU MHz is 700 (instead of the normal 1200), then you run the risk of it lagging, locking up, etc. Conversely, if your max CPU is set to something like 1800 (surpassing the stock rating of our CPU [1500] and the stock limit of our CPU [1200] by a healthy margin), then you run the risk of hardware failure, severe overheating, etc. etc.

yeah, ill be the first to admit, that i was told to read all 3 guids in thier entirety, but i did not lol i only read what was pertinant to my situation lol i just wanted my phone back. now, i am rooted, and there is so much info on what you can do that it is almost overwhelming. anyway i am going to sit down and read that guide fully. and suppose we will go from there.

the time frame on the release of 4.1 that i heard was supoosed to be before aig 29 as that is when the SGSIII is supposed to roll out with 4.1, it was speculation i know but the idea was that nexus devices should get it before anyone else because that has generally been the norm? this is my first nexus device so i am not sure on that either.

Unless the world comes to an end (and it may, because aliens), I don't think the S3 will beat the GN, at least on Verizon. Verizon does....thorough...testing. I can't see a manufacturer skin beating an OS with no skin at all. Two layers to test as opposed to one, ya know?

That being said, read my guide. Hell, read the Kraken guide too. All is relevant for Nexii :).

OH YEAH. aside from JB, one of my reasons for rooting was to change the colorfull boot screen to something else, I have a 15 second clip of me in my bros suberu STI drifting my ass off. I would love to put that clip there. ALSO there is no sound on that screen, if it was possible to insert my clip in the first place, would it also be possible to have the sound from that clip in there too.

In theory, but I doubt the sound would sync. It might? I know the bootanimation.zip (MUST BE NAMED THAT) must be placed in the system/media folder. I completely forget what the boot sound file name is actually named, however.

So I name my clip boot animation.zip and place it in system/media?

And as for the sound it is not important, it just sounds awesome. Rallying that Subaru
