OWNERS: What do you NOT LIKE about your Galaxy Note 7?

My only complaint so far is that the edges are basically useless. I already miss the more pronounced curved edges on my S6edge+. The night clock on the edge isn't very viewable on the note 7 as it is on the edge+ as it is more on the top of the screen as the edge is too small to display anything viewable from the side. :( Other than that it's an excellent device.

After spending a few hours setting up and playing with my 7, I inserted the SIM card and, in vain, attempted to activate the phone :(
Eventually, I broke down and called AT&T---but I'm uncertain whether to believe what the rep told me . . .
He said the 7s cannot be activated till release day---tomorrow.

Is that true?

That's not true. I got my sisters Note 7 in the mail yesterday and activated the SIM card as soon as I got notified that it was delivered and I activated it while I was at work, mind you, and the phone was home. I just went on my AT&T account online, went to my orders and simply activated it that way and it worked fine.

Standby battery drain. Also, the slight lag when switching apps. I am coming from 3 months on an iPhone SE and that this is very zippy while the Note is not. But I love the Note overall, especially the camera.

I noticed that as well. I went to bed with about 95% or so. Woke up with it at 83%. My S7E would not drain that fast. Let's hope it will settle down soon after a few charges.

I agree that the edge wouldn't be as useful as the S7E, but this phone isn't really supposed to be an "edge" upgrade.
If someone likes the S6/S7 edge screen, I don't know why they would go to the Note7.
I checked out the clock function as well yesterday and didn't think it would be readable either unless you had a nightstand considerably lower than your mattress.

Always on display isn't working on mine. Looks like I'll be heading to T-Mobile in the morning for an exchange.
Looks like a couple people got lemons. This is one good thing about buying in person you can make sure it works before you leave when they switch the sim card. I ordered and it was a very painless process. A lot better than standing for hours at the store.
I wouldn't consider the Always on Display being a lemon issue as its not hardware related. I'm guessing people aren't turning on the feature, installing software that conflicts with it, etc.
Mia_xoxo, Did you go in settings and make sure Always on Display is turned on? Are you using TouchWiz, or did you install a different launcher? Did you install apps before you tried it, or try it with everything still at factory settings?

You know if you're using the camera its going to drain the battery, right? :p;)

Just bought mine today. I just want to preface this post by saying I think it's a really great phone overall. But it's not perfect:

- It's an absolute fingerprint magnet. The back constantly looks 'dirty' with fingerprints.
- Samsung's Touchwiz software I have to say feels quite slow when compared to the HTC 10 or Nexus 6P. Seems to have delay when opening an app or going back to the home screen. Also notice stuttering when swiping across screens, pulling down the notification bar, and just generally navigating through the UI. It's not big or distracting, but it's just not as fast as the HTC 10 for me.
- The speaker is quite poor. Sounds muted, as if someone is covering the speaker with something.
- I don't like how there are so many duplicate Google and Samsung applications. The phone looks bloated with two sets of apps: 'Calendar' 'Calendar', 'Clock', 'Clock', 'Gallery', 'Photos', 'Messenger', 'Messages' etc.
- I don't like that I have to create a Samsung account if I want to use any of the Samsung stuff. I just want to download a different theme....don't see why I need to sign up to a Samsung account....
Isn't every phone a "fingerprint" magnet. It seems like every review criticizes phones and other glossy objects as fingerprint magnets. Did you have clean hands before you fingered it? :p Are you going with a case - if so then it shouldn't be an issue.
Have you put the phone in developer mode and tried changing the animation options (such as disabling them) to see if that gets rid of the delay you are seeing?
The speaker issue was a given before the phone even came out, so I'll concede that point to you. Wonder if any manufacturers have made speaker cases (where speakers are built into the case) as that could work around the problem if you don't want to go the wireless headphone/speaker route. Have you messed with some of the sound settings? (Someone earlier in the thread reported that made it slightly better).
You can disable the duplicate applications, so that is only a temporary issue, right?
I agree that having to make a Samsung account just to do simple things like change themes is annoying, but once you've done that once at least its done and over with.
I'm switching from an HTC M8 (think I recall you mentioning you were using one a couple of years ago), and have been anticipating the slower TouchWiz system and lower quality speaker since before I ordered the system and been trying to plot possible solutions around them.

No developer settings? I am on the Verizon variant.

I want to turn off animations.
Did you go into about, and tap on the build number a bunch of times (6 or 7 if I recall correctly) to turn on developer mode?

I love mine so far. Try the urban armor gear case. Had one on my note 5. Have one on this note and it rocks. Dropped my note t many many times... Not a scratch dent or break.

I have to download an app to control the capacitive button lights now? Really???

For those looking for a way to turn the backlight off always or control the time they stay on, here is the control that was in the settings menu of your Note 4.

Galaxy Button Lights 2

Haha every Samsung I get I tell myself the same thing. Gonna stick with touch wiz but I end up with nova or action launcher 3

I think the edges are more for the estetic look with no bezels rather than the functionality. No one is forced to use the edge ui

Wow cant believe how negative you all are.... Dont like take back

Please

How about some focusing on the good... Wow these forums now how to kill. Enthusiasm

If Google now is integrated in the TouchWiz launcher instead of that stupid briefing i would use TouchWiz launcher. Until then I'll be using google now launcher. I believe Sony worked with Google to get the google now page to the left of the Sony launcher so hopefully it comes as an option with other OEM launcher as well.

And I'm hating that Messages is grayed out in Smart Switch. I need a lot of my messages and cannot figure out why Smart Switch is hating on me. Stuck on the S7E until I figure it out.

That was it. Thanks. Now my phone is more "snappy". :)

Yeah, I enabled the DEV options too on my VZ Note 7. I see a cool option for "USB configuration". I changed that from "charging" to "MTP" so now I don't have to change that every single time I connect it to my PC :-) , or to Samsung Smart Switch. Good stuff.
