OWNERS: What do you NOT like about your Honor 8?

The only thing I don't like is that there is no WiFi calling. This is the only deal breaker for me. I will be returning the phone tomorrow.

I think most unlocked phones don't have this unfortunately.

And they update each time, it's just awesome. In my case, I don't need it but I can understand the need.

I'd like it at work, I have terrible signal there, more battery is wasted latching onto the signal than keeping the screen illuminated.

The 6P is compatible with T-Mobile WiFi calling. I will be replacing my Honor 8 with an unlocked HTC 10 because it is also compatible with T-Mo's WiFi calling. Even though I hate to send it back, I work half the day in a building without services so it's the only way I can stay connected.

I totally understand this. I wonder how these manufacturers get it to work sometimes.

Well honor is a sub brand for Huawei,though I guess Google makes the software perhaps Huawei can ask Google for the specifics,though it is probably locked through nda.

I wanted another music player and downloaded Blackplayer, but no matter what settings i put, it doesnt show on the lockscreen.. neither does other players, only the stock one shows.

What do you mean? Google play music has Artist/song and skip controls and on the lockscreen for me.

Yeah I think this is app dependent too.
I do not like that some apps do not show these.

This phone seems to be a bit funny when it comes to music app lock screen controls. Some apps have them while others don't. Spotify and Google Play Music both show controls on the lock screen of this phone. Apple Music, YouTube Music, and BlackPlayer do not.

I've looked through all the settings and tried various things but haven't found any way to enable media controls for these apps on the lock screen with this phone.

It's kind of annoying to unlock to change the song. Also SoundCloud works great too. Maybe we should make a thread or something with the apps that work and the ones that don't work.

Have you guys tried other lock screens? I didn't like the standard one myself. I've tried a few different ones but my favorite has been Next lockscreen. Music controls work very well, it's also compatible with the built in fingerprint unlock function (not all play nice with this) . Maybe give it a shot, it's free on the Play Store.

Well, that we are forced to use a 3rd party lockscreen app for a simple feature is bad. From a security point of view foremost.
But I thought I would try it and installed CM lockscreen, that one looked good, but pressing the camera didn't bring it up.. it just unlocked the system to home page..
Then I tried another lockscreen, but I couldn't manage to completely shut off the stock one, so having double lockscreens I uninstalled it.
Now I'm back to the original one.. I just going to have to grin and bear it. Perhaps if it gets to bothersome I'll try Next as you recommend.

So group messaging is weird when it comes in. It showed as a separate contact text message for the person who created the message, but it eventually goes into the actual message chain.

I thought that I broke something. Lol. Not a fan of it, especially with a constant group chain.

Haha, fair point. Thankfully my friends who start them, make them just for certain situations.

I agree here. The phone needs more volume. Other that I like most everything about this phone. I even like the stock software interface. The phone is quite slippery but I a full skinomi liquid skin coverage kit on the way. Even top, Sides and bottom will be protected. At that point I'll probably leave my case off.
