Pairing Jawbone w/ Samsung Infuse

I followed the instructions I'd found on the androidcentral site via Google search, and I cannot get my Samsung Infuse to pair with my Jawbone. When I hold down the "buttons" on the Jawbone, I do NOT get either an alternating color flash or a blue flash. It flashes red, about once every 5 seconds.

The Jawbone flashes, the Infuse searches, and nothing happens. With my old Samsung phone, pairing was never a problem. Sometimes the phone would pair up with the earpiece when I didn't want it to!

My Jawbone is one I purchased with my old phone about two years ago, and it's always worked fine. I've never been able to pair it with my Infuse, which I got in August. Is this a matter of too much technology is a bad thing?

BTW, what is the "SGH-1997" under "Device name" supposed to mean?

I'd welcome any suggestions.

Thanks!

Rick

SGH-I997 is the INFUSE Model name. my jawbone connected with no probelms. and my blue ant car speaker connected with no problems

Thanks.

The Jawbone paired just fine with my old Samsung "slider" phone too -- sometimes when I didn't really want it to (when it got turned on inadvertently).

I went to the AT&T site to find a possible answer to this issue. Curiously the page that tells one how to pair the Infuse 4G with an older Jawbone Bluetooth earpiece is "unavailable."

Well, the problem seems to be in the Jawbone, not the telephone. I tried to pair it up with an old phone I happened to still have, and it would not. With as little use as that headset has had over the past couple of years since I got it, that's really disappointing.

Rick' I may be way off base but, which model Jawbone do you have? Also the flashing red light doesn't mean it's in pairing mode, it should be red/white and blue I think. This is how it works on my "Icon". If you have a different/older/newer one, I apologize.
