Pandigital Apps

Hello everyone, I have a question regarding a Pandigital tablet. I brought this thing dirt cheap, and it isn't a bad little tablet. The one problem I have is with apps. Trying to get them from Google Play it isn't recognized on their list of devices. I came across tons of hacks and rooting tricks on Youtube, but I didn't really feel good about them.

Does anyone know a straight forward method, that would allow me to add Googleplay on my device.

Ditto. I just picked up a PanDigital Novel 7" at a garage sale for $15. I think it's running Android 2.1. I'm trying to find a "Android upgrade for Dummies" method for turning it into something really useful. Hopefully someone will take pity and hook us up.
