At first I didn't give the Evolte ANY kind of attention at all, the other day I played with an EVO in stores...first thing I noticed about the phone when I turned on the screen.........the screen. It looked...fake. Literally. I was blown away by it. It looked REALLY incredible. Blows my old 4S screen out of the water. Never been a HUGE fan on sense, but I've always liked the way the home screen looks. Anyways.. I was debating on getting this phone, or waiting for the S3. Mind you I only had about 4 days left to swap in my Nexus for either or (loved the nexus btw, just hated the on screen buttons [always hit home button while texting], and the battery died before I could walk out the door almost, haha). Well. I came home, did some research. The S3 only has a few software gimmicks that the evo doesn't. Also, I wasn't aware that the EVO was based off the One-X/S series. Welllll, I decided I'd get the evo. Picked it up yesterday. Was literally toying around with it all day.
I don't understand why people are turned off by the unibody construction and the fact that you can't take the battery out. I love the way that feels, I guess because I've had every iPhone to date. (yes, apple guy has been converted to android!)
I got off work, battery had 72% left. I texted throughout the day(8hr work day). Had a couple calls. Watched a couple youtube videos. I was NOT expecting it to last that long.
The CAMERA is awesome. I love taking macro shots with it. I didn't know it could pull them off as well as it does. Beats is a nice add on as well.
I love the phone, and wouldn't consider trading it in for the S3, ever. It feels so solid and more rugged than what the S3, i'm SURE feels like.
Question though. Has anyone sanded that glossy plastic backing yet? I bought some 400grit sandpaper to do so, even though I've got my phone in a case. I hate how..flashy that is. Love the flat black look on the bottom much more.
Sorry about the long read though, but I must say I am pretty impressed by this phone..
