Password locked

Hello I bought my daughter a capacitive android 4.0 tablet a few days ago, i set it all up with google play and it worked fine. However the next day she woke up and it had a password lock on the screen. I tried the gmail password i had used but it doesn't work. I carnt get into the tablet at all. So i need to do a hard reset back to factory settings! I cannot find any help on how to do this on the Internet, please help

Normally on a smartphone it a combination of holding the volume down or up button and power button then do a factory data reset or data wipe and if that don't work u may need to call the company the tablet is made by

It's a tablet and im not sure which buttons to press ive tried All different ones of the Internet but none seem to work

OK turn the tablet off completely and hold down the volume down and power button at the same time until the screen comes on and see what that does of it powers on normally then turn it back off and try the volume up and power and if that don't work try both up and down and power make sure the tablet is off before trying any of this

I've tried all 3 ways of doing that but the tablet wont come on while im pressing any other buttons with the power button, it only comes on when I press the power button on its own

If that don't work turn the tablet on and wait for it to boot up to the lock screen and then press and hold the power bottom for 10 sec and it will reset but before it does quickly press and hold the volume down and power button until u see a little android guy flipped over

Still not working it just switches off and yes I will try, how do I attach a picture?

When u hit reply on the post there should be a little pic of a camera beside discard r u using a phone or a computer

And another thing does the device have a camera button on the side anywhere

No it has a back button, vol up&down and a power button. Im using a phone 5, carnt see the camera anywhere

Yes it's brand new, only got it 2 days ago. Shall I upload a pic of the box?

OK I think I have it on the back or side somewhere there should be a small hole small enough where u could only stick a paper clip or needle that should do the trick be sure to hold it for 10 15 sec

Yes there is mate but that only seems to reset the date and time
