Try to put a new Lock on it using Google's Android Device Manager (it should be enabled by default on your device). It will ask you to enter a new pin/password. This will override the old pattern lock if your device is connected to data.

Otherwise, with the pattern lock, it should as has happened, ask you to enter your Gmail address (username) and password.

Maybe try to ensure you have the correct password and email by logging in to your Google account on a pc, and or visiting Android Device Manager above via your Google account, and check that your device is registered, and that you can locate it if it has data.

You should be able to factory reset it to new ×with whatever buttons are available×, but you will lose any files / pics and accounts.

What device is that?

I'm not bothered about losing anything on it ,I bought it of wowcher D2D distribution Ltd the model number is in the first post

That model code would not show up on Google Search yesterday.
I tracked D2D in the UK. Its a Chimp electronics tablet, I would guess, either a 7" kids or 9" dual core.

There is no way to tell what hardware buttons it has (why I asked).
You can normally use a combination of button holds while powered off to bring up a Recovery Mode where you can chose to wipe data/factory reset with the volume key and select with a power key. (does it have a home button on the screen face as well?
Best to try to contact Chimp for Recovery mode (I know it's Christmas and it's a present etc).
It says there should be a leaflet enclosed, try there, but it may be basic.

Possibly someone better here can suggest what button options to try.
You may have solved this, or consigned it to the bin.

You get less responders over a holiday unfortunately.

You could also put your original post again in the Ask any Question forum, where you get a higher response rate in the late evening. I am also in the UK but most are not.
I hope you get it sorted for him.

Thank you I've certainly not solved it ,the only button it has is a power button the on screen home button and volume buttons are all touch buttons , ive tried putting a pin in the back if it to reset it but that just reboots it , I honestly don't know how a 16 year old boy can forget a simple password he has tried all sorts ,I think its to the point now we have tried that many ways its defo not letting us unlock it, I'll put my laptop on and look St that link

There are a few links for accessing recovery mode on differing devices in Ambassador @Golfdriver97's guide here ^^ though these have more than one button.
I may link him to this. I usually forget something obvious.

So the device was turned off and needs a password to restart, or if it has always been on but you just need the password to unlock the screen.
You say it is not connected to wifi so I assume it was off?
I think for it to accept the email and password it would need the wifi connected, but I am not sure.
Either way I would put the Google account back to the email and password when it was last used.

I will try to get @Golfdriver97 to have a look here later.

£49 instead of £199.99 (from D2D) for a 7-inch quad core Android smart tablet - save 75% A 7-inch quad core Android tablet from D2D (was £199.99)

I can see one 9" quad core left on Wowcher now. The other 7" and 9" tablets on Chimp Electronics site are dual core. It may have sold out.
They all seem much the same, some have Android 4.4, some the older 4.2.

Golfdriver may have a suggestion later. I can't get more information on the devices. Try them online tomorrow. Good luck.

Welcome to the forums!

Madd got my attention to this, and hopefully, we can get something figured out.

I have not searched or done any research into this device yet, so what I have to suggest is guessing.

I would first try to power off the device by holding power and the same area to increase the volume. Hopefully, that even though it is a touch responsive volume, it still may register a touch during the boot process. Holding those two should get you into recovery, where a reset can be done.

If that fails, all android devices should accept commands via ADB, or android debt bridge. There are lots of YouTube videos to help get you set up and running. Once everything is good to go, you should be able to type ADB reboot-recovery in the ADB command box (this is similar to using DOS commands). That should get you into recovery as well.

From an AOSP M8

Thank you , still no luck lol I've sent it to the phone shop to get flashed or what ever they do, truely appreciate all your help :)

Picked the tablet up from the shop this morning and still in the same pickle, couldn't be taken off, he tried everything he had to do it but nothing could sort it so now I've just contacted wowcher requesting a refund ,hope I get one

I'm sure Android devices should have a fwctory reset option, but the manufacturer would say it's in the settings, which is no use if it is locked out.
I hope you get some satisfaction. Real shame he couldn't use it.

If you get a refund, the Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 7" are going for only £79 now, from 159-199 in late 2013, even in John Lewis. They are a run out model so may not last long. Much better to use, 8gb storage, 1gb (twice) the ram, sd card slot, great screen and comprehensive software.

Good luck.

Thank you ,I hope so too, and I swear by Samsung , I've got the Samsung tab 2 and Samsung s4mini phone, hoping to get the new note on my upgrade lol ,thank you
