So after updating my DInc to the OTA 2.2, I noticed that Friendstream wasn't pulling Twitter notifications (which it does through Peep as some know)... I removed the Twitter account from the settings menu and tried to re-add it... When I try to log into Peep, it says invalid username or password...

Touiteur works fine and I know my password is correct as I checked it on the web... Anyone else getting this?

I've had Peep do that before on 2.1. For some reason, it just loses the link to Twitter and can't ever get it back. The answer was to go into settings > apps > manage and delete the cache and app data. Then start with a "new" HTC Peep.

I'm using the official Twitter Android app on 2.2. Works okay. I have Peep disabled for now.

No good... Cleared cache and app data, still getting invalid password...

VZWSupport's first response Tweet... "Have you tried uninstalling and reinstalling the app?"

I'm going to pause for a moment to let that sink in.................

OK, so, after taking some aspirin for my Heart Attack, I politely informed them that this is a pre-installed app without the ability to uninstall it...

yeah i just cleared my data and all, tried to log in with peep and it failed.... i like the twitter app better though... would like this fixed

Yeah this sucks. Thing I like the most about peep is the big widget for my home screen. I haven't found another Twitter client that does that without having to pay for it.

I am having this problem as well. Very frustrating. I was having problems with peep in 2.1, but at least it was semi working. I've tried changing my password on the twitter website, clearing cache. Nothing.

I only want it to work because I like having the FriendStream widget to consolidate all my stuff...

CRKhead, you were the one who told me to try other twitter clients the other night. Looks like that's my only option now haha..

Good find... I was wondering if that had something to do with it, and it definitely appears that way...

it's not 2.2. i still haven't gotten my update and friendstream no longer updates twitter. i logged out of the twitter client and couldn't log back in. i could with other twitter clients and the web via mobile and computer but peep somehow can't log in.

Yeah... It's actually a problem that I coincidentally noticed after my Froyo update...

If the Mods could change the thread title to "HTC Peep / Friendstream OAuth Issue" I'd appreciate it... Also, if you think this should go to the APP forum, please do so... :)

Same issue with me. I hadn't looked to see if it was working until I saw this post. When I went to look it said no tweets so I refreshed and it still said no tweets. I then checked out the settings and they looked fine so I decided to reinput my information and now I get the same error.

Yeah, HTC has got to make this work. Friendstream was a major selling point. Not being able to log in via Twitter is a major problem!!!

This should forum should be moved up in terms of priority and someone needs to figure out if this solely an update.zip issue vs OTA or new Incredible phone with Froyo installed issue.

It's a HTC Peep/Twitter issue. I had it with 2.1 before and the last time it was like this, happening again and again with all the remedies not working and finally I just kept trying and trying and trying (with SSL and without) and eventually it did work...doesn't look like it will this time... grr

EDIT: Tried logging in via email address..no good... also rebooted the phone.. no good

The whole selling point for me was friendstream. ( i have an EVO, my daughter has an Incredible running 2.1). I sent an email to HTC so they know how important this is to us friendstream users.
