Android Central Question

i've been searching through data on my android trying ot clear up some memory (delete photos, and even apps didn't do anything) and I found that almost 12 MB of data was being used in
Android>data>com.google.googlequicksearchbox>files>pending_blobs
should I delete the stuff in there or is it important or what? I haven't seen anything else using up much of anything, and I only have the regular apps that came with the phone left, so it's not like i've got much more stuff I can get rid of

Welcome to Android Central! 12 MB is pretty small these days, and if you were to delete this kind of data, it would almost certainly come back fairly quickly. Which phone do you have, how much internal storage does it have, and how full is it?

it's a ZTE Zfive 2lite, it's got 7.53 of 8GB used up, and that hasn't decreased a noticeable amount when I deleted apps it's also got an SD card, but it's only got 121 MB and it's already using 70 of that

See the tips here for maximizing what little internal storage you have: https://forums.androidcentral.com/a...y-how-deal-insufficient-storage-warnings.html. The unfortunate reality is that 8 GB is hardly enough for most users these days, since even the preinstalled apps can take up most of the available storage (once they've been updated to the most recent versions). You might just have to look into a new phone.

I have 88 megs of pending blob files. Going off of his 8 gigs. Yes 88 would be kinda a lot. Sincecthe os and required apps only leave a gig or so free. (Not sure exact amount on his phone)

They will come back fast? I have pending blobs files going back 9 months. If they are still pendinh after almost a year, whats up?

What are the blob files database from what i understand, but pending is whats up. What are they? Im just guessing since no one has answered, but they sound like temp database files/entries. Doesn't say temp, so i can't be sure.

Finally Freeing up space on his phone. Not a blob issue. . Go through the app manager, and clear cache and data. Clearing cache will be just temporary, ans clearing data also temporary (data may mean losing data &settings that will be reloaded or need to be re entered by the user) final option just to get by till getting a new phone. Restore to factory settings. WILL LOSE A LOT OF DATA. Not sure if google will restore apps, or consider them not installed. Both on this and a new phone. WHEN BUYING A NEW PHONE THESE DAYS, GOOGLE WIL AUTOMATICALLY REINSTALL THE APPS THAT WERE ONE YOUR OLD PHONE. Sometimes it may include data, but don't count on that
