True... Apple might have that honor for the US, but there is a world beyond our border. Samsung it's the world's top smartphone OEM.

I don't live in the US. I'm stating the reason for why they are top is because they sell so many different types of phones. They dell like 100 different types of phones.

Apple does the same thing in claiming they sell the most of a single phone...that is only true because they only sell one model (or did until now).
Apple made such an impact on our world during the era of Jobs's "reality distortion field." It will take awhile, and a few unremarkable releases, before the brand's power wanes. My own opinion on the 6 and 6+ is that Apple is simply catching up to Samsung's screen size options and HD cameras.

It depends on what you mean by "deceptive". They are playing on semantics to give the illusion that most people prefer their products, which is clearly not the case IMO.
I believe that if there was only one model of iPhone, and only one model of Android phone at the same price, and nothing else available, that iPhone would smoke the Android in sales. IMHO, of course.

If grandma had balls, she'd be grandpa. We can speculate "if's" all day. The actual fact is that more people are buying Android phones than are buying Apple phones.

It's fun to speculate. We know what the facts are, but it interesting to speculate about sales on an even playing field. Like a Note 4 and a 6+, or a S5 and a 6. Just for fun.

You do know how many different types of Android phones there are right? Maybe in the ballpark of 200 or maybe more. With extremely low or high pricing.

Note sure why thats relevant if you are talking about the popularity of an OS in general.
Because it's natural that the more models you have the more you will sell.
That doesn't mean I agree with the other guy though. The One M8 is a stunning phone which doesn't deserve no where bear the attention it should get.

I don't see how this is an accomplishment when one company sells 1-2 phones per year and the other comes out with a new one each month.
