Performance Analysis - EVO LTE vs. US GS3 - EVO LTE faster...

Re: Performance Analysis - EVO LTE vs. US GS3 - EVO LTE faster.

WiFi has been bulletproof on mine and connects to a network really really quick.

Whoah Whoah Whoah - can i get a fellow EVO'r to please take a couple of benchmarks out for a spin for me. After the last little "HTC Sense" update (giving back the menu option through shortcut) - I'm seeing INSANE performance increases across the board, of note:

Quadrant Scores averaging 6100 (that's an average out of 10 tests run - lowest number was 5800, highest was 6300 something)
Vellamo Scores are different - but I'm at 1691/590
Browsermark - what the little white hell....how did I jump from 10.2k to almost 12k? That's a HUGE performance gain!
GL Bench Egypt is also up by nearly 2.6 fps average

I posthulate that something in Sense has been fundamentally altered, benchmark performance is up (to the tune of 5% across the board...more in individual tests), but I'm in need someone to validate this across another device and find out if it's a fluke, or if HTC really did drastically alter something allowing sense to give up more resources to the OS/GPU to provide the performance gap!

Pretty sexy stuff - I wish I could get that type of performance from updating drivers for the GpU in my PC!

:)

You claim a 5% increase. Personally, I would not categorize 5% as "INSANE performance increase", more like "slight performance increase". But I did run Quadrant like you asked. I am getting total 5789 (CPU 8327, Mem 11455, IO 6134, 2D 833, 3D 2198). What is interesting is that it is MUCH faster than the HTC One X (which should be identical) at about 4600 total. I love that it totally beats the Transformer Prime Tegra 3 quad core which gets barely 4100!

I ran it a second time and got 5470. Third time was 5490. Not sure why my first run was so fast.

Wow, definite increase in Quadrant after the update.... In the upper 5000s now, like 5700-6000. My highest was 53xx before the update. Normally I don't take too much stock into these things, especially for phone to phone comparisons. But for intraphone comparisons (yes I just coined that term), as in comparing Roms, they can be useful. It definitely does reflect the increase smoothness I've noticed since then.

Cool!

5% is completely insane given that its just a software release...the last update didn't include any additional drivers for the SOC. I still seem to be running faster than most of you...not sure why but hetes a very average score for me....could just be that quadrant is schizophrenic I suppose...but I'm seeing increased performance in many, if not all, of mg apps

Sent from my Evo LTE using 3g...because Sprint needs to get their collective asses in gear
