Person on Other End of Phone Call Getting Echo (Only With Me)

Tmann202 - I've had this issue for over a year now on T-Mobile with a HTC 10 unlocked version. HTC has replaced my phone twice under warranty and the issue persists! I've gone rounds with Tmobile but they will not accept responsibility.
Very frustrating, i know.
For me the other talker hears the echo (and its very strong) no matter where I am in the country. It happens with about 70% of people. A few of my friends it doesnt happen to but I have not been able to pin it down.
I'll let you know if I ever figure it out, but it's been over a year of frustration and Im about to shell out for a new phone :(

Ok, and have you also tried turning off any setting for Noise Reduction?

I've recently been experiencing the same issue as the OP has described in this thread. I've noticed that if I hold my finger over the noise cancelling mic (I believe that's what this is) at the top of the phone, the person on the other end won't hear themselves echoing. When I take my finger off, they hear the echo. I'm not sure about a proper workaround with this, but B. Diddy is the closest in solving this issue.

Update: After further testing, the issue comes from the phone case. If I take it off, no echo. If I have it on, echo. If I take it off and cover the mic at the top, no echo. If I put it on and cover the mic at the top, no echo.

My wife just started experiencing calls where the people calling her heard echos of themselves. It only happens when she's using her new Plantronics M180 bluetooth headset so we thought that was the problem. Plantronics (of course) disavowed any knowledge of their headsets ever causing any kinds of problems. That's when I ran across this post on Android Central.

It was fairly easy, if a bit weird, to trouble-shoot this problem by having my Motorola BT in one ear and her Plantronics in the other ear, then calling my phone from hers. It allowed me to play with volume and try other things. Lowering the volume on her phone all the way down (the "media" volume when in call mode) helped quite a bit.

But then I tried taking the case off her phone and the echo was almost eliminated. It was a cheap case. There was still a slight echo but barely noticeable. Upon close inspection of her phone I saw she had dented the speaker at the top of the phone. As others have surmised, I think the speaker component also contains a noise cancellation microphone. I'm going on the assumption that she damaged the speaker/mic and that's what's causing the echo.

So, every one who suggested 1) remove the case and 2) clean the speaker/mic at the top are probably right. Also, check the speaker/mic for damage. And on a final note, I use a Bodyguardz case, have dropped my S7 Edge from the top of a car and have never had a problem. Just sayin'
