I am have an issue my phone has been deleting images, I have tried clearing the data in image viewer, and tried looking at tutorials I am unsure what to do it has gotten to the point I have started to use sites to store images because the phone likes to delete them, so I am here hoping to resolve this situation once and for all

Welcome to Android Central! Which phone? Are these photos you took with the Camera app, or images you downloaded from the web or using an app?

OP PM'd me this (since they were having some difficulty with replying in the forum): "the phone is an Alcatel onyx, and they are images I downloaded from the web"

Are the images being saved to the /Download directory? If so, then as mustang7757 suggested, look for any "phone cleaner" app you might have on the phone (including anything that might have come preinstalled on the phone) to see if it's set to automatically clear out the Download folder on a regular basis.

Did same pm me also

Okay the forum posting is working now, and the only data cleaner I see is the anti virus app "super antivirus" but I always skip the data cleaning part and there is storage manager but it is off

Those kinds of apps usually target the /Download directory, so if you're downloading these images from the web, try moving them from the /Download directory to somewhere else, like the /Pictures directory.

Hello I am having an issue my phone keeps deleting images I was told to uninstall my current antivirus which worked after causing my phone to crash, well things were fine up until just hours ago when I saw my phone deleted over 100 images after reboot, I am not sure what to do, my phone is an Alcatel onyx (and yes I am the same person who asked before but I lost my password and the password recovery does not work' so I was forced to make another account)

I merged your thread into the previous one and changed the owner of those previous posts to your new username. Since we don't allow multiple usernames, I'll delete your previous account.

Are you saving images to Internal Storage or an SD card?

I am saving images to Internal storage, and like create another folder and move them over?

Does that whole folder that you created disappear, or just the photos that you moved there? Also, can you see the photo files if you use a file manager to look (rather than the gallery app)?

Well I just created a new folder, but in the download folder only certain images were deleted, and yes I can see them in the file manager

Using the file manager, do you see a file called .nomedia in that folder as well?

Just to clarify -- you're saying that certain images in the /Download folder disappear from the gallery, but you can still see them in the file manager? Or are you saying those images get completely deleted and you can't see them in the file manager either?

They get completely deleted and I cannot see them in either but it's not instant it's a gradual process like it's not instantly deleted the same day it's saved
