Why did I think that lollipop 🍭 would have corrected this issue?

It's sad,... my DROID maxx xt912 did it running ICS; 😒 but, not my DROID Turbo64 BN... running lollipop 🍭 5.1 can't???

It's not a software problem, it is a hardware problem. And yea, in a way it seems backwards since the Droid Maxx had the extra hardware to make it work!

It's an easy fix. Go into settings, tap advanced calling and turn it on. It turns on VoLTE which allows phone use and data at the same time.

Additionally, must login to your Verizon account & enable Advanced Calling.

I can use data & voice simultaneously. Make sure your settings are correct.
If I had known what the correct settings were, I wouldn't have created this thread. Have a nice 4th of July.

I thought this was only to disable the feature.

Originally had to do both, I don't know if that's changed. Oddly, you can make video calls with just the phone option on but your status in contacts & Video Groups is unchanged - does not show as video capable.

I tried it..... It worked!

Just be aware if a few things now that you've enabled Advanced Calling on My Verizon.

1. Make sure under Settings you also have Advanced Calling active.

2. Calls will now be made using Voiceover LTE (VoLTE). This means calls are made on the LTE band rather than CDMA. The phone can use CDMA if you're out of an LTE area.

3. If you're in a sketchy LTE area and you're on a phone call, it will drop the call if it switched down to 3G. If you're in a good area you shouldn't see this at any point. If you make a call on 3G and it switched to 4G, the CDMA will not drop as far as I know.

4. You can obviously do voice and data now but you must be on an LTE call. This happens automatically so long as you're in an LTE coverage area.

5. Enjoy, any questions feel free to ask! Calls to other Verizon customers that also have Advanced Calling enabled will be an HD call. It's clarity will be crystal clear and your phone will even say HD on the call screen. Otherwise, it'll be a regular style call.
