Hello,

The last 3 days (and 2x in one of those days) my phone has been doing this new trick where it dies at what it claims to be 30-35% battery. It has done it a couple times in the past, but not several days in a row before. It requires a charger before it will restart

Also it's been telling me sometimes at night that I dont have a SIM card, not sure if related or not.

I've contacted my phone carrier to see what my options are and it's either
  • Pay $275 to give them the phone back
  • Pay $450 to keep the phone
  • Pay $200 to get a replacement
  • Deal with a phone that hates me.

Of course this happens one month after the warranty is over. Is there any way to fix this or has anyone else had this happen? Thank you in advance for any suggestions!

My Moto X has been doing the same thing regarding the battery, dying around 30%. Lithium batteries do lose their ability to hold a charge over time, maybe the battery is simply wearing out.

No, these devices don't show the real batery charge. So, you should to take it into your mind. And if you have 35%, you should sharge your device.

I bet the circuit on the battery can't read the battery properly. It lost its calibration. A new battery might fix it.
