using rom manager to restore my backup and it freezes in the middle and never finishes. Any clue what I should do?

I can get back to stock or flash a rom, just not my backup

Have you tried restoring directly in recovery? I was having issues with rom manager last time I tried to use it.

no I didnt know I could do that, I thought I had to go through rom manager

Easiest way to get there is to go to bootstrap and select restart recovery. It will restart and come up with the recovery screen. Your touch screen won't work there so use the volume button to navigate and the camera button to select. There is an option for restore/recovery. Works well, I used that to flash apex, but haven't had to restore yet.

Yup the only way I have done is tho bootstrapper to
Bootstrap Recovery
Get success popup window>click ok
Then Reboot Recovery
Puts you in clockwork mode then select as mentioned in post above mine
I havent used Rom Manager this way is good for me ha :)

Sent using TaPaTaLk

well I ended up just reloading the rom I wanted to use and my backup pro finally worked to restore my apps, the whole reason I wanted to restore was to backup my apps because I couldnt get that app to work, it kept saying not a valid license.

I will have to play around with the backups some more but would hate to have to redo everything again like I had to last night

thanks

When switching Roms I have the same issues with some apps (MusicSleep) where they say invalid license or whatnot, just reinstall the app.

I have found that with the Droid x the only reason to use Rom manager is to download Rom on the fly, I do everything else in recovery, as for apps I don't use a back up because with 2.2 my apps automatically re-install themselves once I open the market for the first time.

I tried reinstalling several times and got the same thing.

Not all my apps will reinstall because some are no longer in the market or have changed and I dont want the newer versions (fancy widgets for one)

Have you tried doing an Advanced Restore through CWM Recovery where you only restore the Data portion of your backup? That might work, and it will restore your apps and data as well.
