Phone is very slow to restart.

Lately I am having to restart my phone almost daily due to losing my network connection. When I restart, it takes forever. It seems like it's locking up on the restart. Also, my phone randomly restarts itself. Anyone else experiencing this?

Doing a reset may help. It may be one of your apps.

The "losing the network connection" (actually the data connection) is somewhat of a "known" issue. There are two potential workarounds here in the forum. One: Phone Info/LTE on/off, and two: eHRPD disabled and RevA enabled. You might want to give one or both a try.

"Locking up" on restart should not happen, if that's what it is. However, stalling for a while at the cloud screen after the lightning bolt disintegrates is normal. Everyone's does that.

As for randomly rebooting... shouldn't happen. Possibly an errant app you've loaded. Possibly a bad phone that needs to be replaced. If this persists I would attempt to revert to factory conditions (i.e. Factory Reset from the menu) and re-check. Then go from there.

i've lost my data connection constantly--
but i've found that turning on Airplane Mode for a minute, then turning it off normally restarts everything and i get instant 4G in the exact same spot where there previously was none to be found.

my TB seems to lag on restarting, too.

I turned on fast boot, under settings --> power and it boots up nice and fast. Not sure of the downside of this yet but haven't noticed any.

FYI - My phone rebooted twice yesterday. Never had it happen before yesterday. I was doing a ton of stuff yesterday though. Lots of new apps, multitasking a lot etc. Not worried about it unless it starts happening more often.

I just restarted my phone for you takes about 90 seconds from beginning to end in standard mode.

Instead of restarting the phone, or going into airplane mode, just get to the problem at it's source.

Settings > Wireless & Network > Mobile Network
Turn it off, then back on (no need to wait).
