Phone popping up recommended apps

Recently when I download something from Google play, after installing a small window pops at the bottom of the phone recommending apps like it. I've never seen that before and haven't downloaded anything out of Google play. Is this a new thing Google play is doing? I don't seem to have any malware from a lookout scan.

Got this too, after download a crap app from google play...
delete the app, solve this.

i don't know what's causing it though. i removed the app that i just installed but it's still there. could have been one of the updates. but not sure which.

Unfortunately you may need to roll back all of the updates you did recently (either that or a hard reset). This way if you remove the last know batch of updates you can then install one at a time to determine what caused it.
