Phone rings stops then rings again on sameoncoming call

On many (but not all) incoming calls.... the phone rings 3 times, then stops, then restarts, on same incoming call.
I am sure it is on all call types, for example just happened on an incoming Whatsapp call.
Any clues as to solution.

That could be partly due to the length of your ringtone. I have The Good the Bad and the Ugly ringtone and it needs to cycle through after it finishes. Custom ringtone by any chance?

After it restarts, does it continue to ring steadily, or does it keep going in groups of 3?

If it isn't due to the ringtone, then contact your carrier and ask if they're aware of any issue like this.

If phone turns off after ringing then I would recommend factory reset as I read your other thread your having multiple issues and I would do a back up.
