Phone shutting off everytime earphones are plugged in

[Android Central Question]

I have a ZTE phone and Everytime I plug my my headphones in, (I use different ones to check if it's the headphones themselves and it's not) my phone shuts off. Please help!

Welcome to Android Central! Is the screen only going to sleep, or is the phone actually powering down completely?
