Phone unlocks to random app instead of home screen

Randomly throughout the day my S8 will unlock to a random app instead of the home screen. I can't figure it out but it's extremely annoying. I've wiped the cache partition, closed out the open apps before turning off screen but still no luck. I use Nova Prime. Any help is greatly appreciated.

I remember having this happen on my S7 Edge. I'm pretty sure what's happening is that you're touching the screen on an app while you're locking it so when you unlock, it appears that that app is launching. I haven't had this happen on my S8+ though. I can't recall if it was just a Nova issue or weather it also happened on TouchWiz because I always start using Nova or Apex on day one. I know this isn't much help but maybe see how you're locking the phone to see if you might be touching the screen as you're locking.

Same issue. Mine seems to open to Google Play music after unlocking. Not always though

Appreciate your input. I have all apps on the screen in folders so I can't imagine I'm opening folders prior to locking the screen.

Strange. I'm trying to remember if there was a setting I found in Nova to rectify this. Let me think about that.
