Phone won't charge

Hi my battery discharged tonight ( I'm on holiday and didn't have time or place.to top up)
When I got back to the hotel room and plugged in charger it powered on but did not,show,charging and quickly gave charge message

Have used volume and power to hard reboot and still does not work.

Currenlyt sat powered off with it connected to,USB charger.

Red led is flashing what seems to be bright dim off repeat

An advice would be appreciate.

You can see my thread below. My phone won't charge when powered on or off. When I do the soft reset (hold power button until phone shuts down) and plug it in I get the same red light sequence that you described. I can confirm that it is in fact charging. I let it go like that for about an hour and it went from 45% to 80% charged. It still won't charge when it's on though.

Seems mine is exactly the same just switched on and at circa 55%.

Have tried:

Different cable
Different plugs (inc. iPhone)
USB port on tv (as in hotel)

One of my main concerns wirh swapping from apple was aftercare..... Assume I'm going to find out soon
