phone wont start, possibly bricked? atrix 4g mb860

gonna try to make this as short as possible but it probably wont work, i have a lot of details to share in case any of it can help. thanks so much in advanced though.
I DID TRY GOOGLE FIRST GUYS, im not a lazy person, just newb as heck with phones.


Motorola ATRIX 4G MB860
the phone broke during an attempt to either root, flash or unlock it
not sure
but the wrong ..rom? (sbf file) was used, because i kept confusing the atrix 4g and HD
so that was the original problem,it wouldnt install all the way and the phone would no longer boot
i tried android recovery but i got an exclamation point in a triangle
so i tried, what i believe to be the correct ROM, or firmware, or sbf file, or whatever its called
and it wont install, "cant get into fastboot mode" or something along those lines

also, since trying to install the CORRECT rom
"Failed to boot 1"
i cant even access the phone by hitting POWER BUTTON+DOWN
if i try that the phone quickly displays a message and shuts off
however, POWERBUTTON+UP works "
but ever since trying to install the correct SBF file/rom (via RSD LITE)
i get the message
FAILED TO BOOT 1
PwrReason: PWR_KEY_PRESS
Starting Fastboot protocol support

at which point RSD LITE, DOES NOTICE THE PHONE!

the sbf file/rom/whatever its called that i attempted to use the first time was for the wrong phone
the sbf/rom/whatever its called i tried to use the second time, i believe that one is the right one.

also, when i tried to use the RIGHT rom
it went through most of the process
but then failed (i think because failure to get into fastboot?)
i have fastboot.exe but i had no idea what to do with it, so maybe thats where i went wrong?

anyway what i get now when i try to install the "correct" software is "failed flashing process. unable to retrieve interface handle (0x7027)

I am not good with HTC devices, but I think your device is bricked.
