Android Central Question

I was thrilled to be able to use wifi calling, because our home has terrible reception. However, now, whenever I leave home, I am unable to make or receive calls even when not logged into wifi. That is, there may be wifi in the area, but it requires a password, so I can't use it. Instead of reverting to cellular, the phone just doesn't work. My husband has exact same phone and isn't having this issue. I'm thinking that some setting is wrong with my phone, but I don't know what. Do I have to manually turn off wifi every time I leave the house?

Go to Settings, Connections, Wifi, Advanced. Look around and check all the settings. What you describe can be just a misconfiguration.

If the suggestion by @methodman89 does not help, enable the "developer" settings, then turn on the option called something like "cellular data always active". This will keep the cellular radios active when the wifi is on. See if this helps.
