Photon 4G EOL'd in April - What's next?

I expected this when I upgraded
as prices fell. It doesn't hurt badly because there isn't a better mix for my needs available for some time, anyway. Compared to my venerable BlackBerry Style, it's a nuclear bomb. Not as efficient for messaging, but quite acceptable. But media-wise, quite an improvement
Battery life has been better for me, surprisingly, without a lot of tweaking. Considering the screen is at least 2 anda half times the size, that ain't bad.

A 9 month run isn't too shabby, and it'll be in stock for some time when you consider that stores still stock new Evo Shifts and Epics, and that their price is the same as the Photon, in many cases.

Think of Windows. It has a lot of drivers printers and Bluetooth. That doesn't mean that your phone comes with them inside :)

Oh ok. Thanks for the info.. and the Windows analogy really helped :P

I'm just wondering if Sprint doing EOL on Photon will change Motorola's plan for ICS. I would be happy with this phone for a good while if it is upgraded to Android 4.0.

I am amazed the Photon was EOL, it is the best wimax business device on Sprint.

I hope a Motorola LTE device shows up or I will go back to HTC or an iPhone...

It sucks but moto and sprint were asleep behind the wheel for the photon. I didn't see a single television ad. When I show people how functional this device is regarding webtop, they instantly imagine their uses of it and all wonder why/how they've never heard of this.

Of all the devices I've owned, most of which I owned development work for, this is by far my favorite. The lapdock alone has changed how I use my phone. Also own the car dock (first time I ever spent $ on a car dock) and HD dock. I read work emails and browse the web all on my HD TV, then take a call without stopping or missing a beat.

I agree they did a poor job promoting it, and it's a shame. I knew nothing when I looked into an upgrade, but research paid off. It has been a great experience, and gets better daily, enough so that I want a car dock.

My car doesn't have aux in nor bluetooth so my moto rokr t505 bluetooth with FM transmitter works great. I have a tasker profile that when my phone hits the dock which launches car home, my phone turns on bluetooth and launches my music player automatically. Works great.

My car has the aux in, and I love the car dock :)

Early upgraded my shift for this phone... Totally worth it...

Hope to be on the lookout for ridiculous deals on Photon docks...media, car, laptop.....think its possible they blow these out? I've always thought they should bundle all three fir an insane price....$300?
