Photos taken with my Galaxy Gear

I'm still not interested. It's perfect for someone to mug you for.

That's true about my Note 3, my purse, my jewelry, my clothes, my car...I'm not going to let fear of crime stop me from enjoying life.

The lens is static on the watch and you have to move your arm to take photos. The apature is fixed. You can snap and immediately transfer photos to phone but cannot post directly to Facebook at this time. There is a share button on the watch but is grayed out on mine so not sure for future apps.

I just got my Galaxy Gear today and was surprised it pairs with the s4 and not just the Note 3. I was able to download Gear Manager and then quickly pair the Gear watch and I am up and running. Make great phone calls and takes great pics, love it so far.

Will it automatically send the photos to my note 3? Is the a setting for that?

It won't send the pics automatically, but you can quickly move them with the press of the transfer button.

I stand corrected. There is a setting in the Gear Manager, under the camera app, that allows the user to transfer pics automatically to the phone.
It appears to work really well.

Also, the camera on the Gear can be set to take photos by voice (say smile, cheese, or capture) and you won't even need to touch the screen.

This watch gets more amazing each and every day. :-)

While looking at phone from the top, noticed something sticking out of camera, it has a plastic cover transparent film that needs to be removed.

True of any decent watch, and this is really no more expensive than a mid-range Casio. Heck I've paid MORE for a few Casio's in my life.

DAS, your posts convinced me I wanted this. I was really against it until I saw your posts and thoughtful reviews. I walked into BB today and they had all the colors available...I walked out with a Jet Black model.

I must say, however, that is one funky charging gizmo. I would have preferred something a little less gimmicky and it seems pretty fragile (the charger, not the watch).

Oh man.....Hot Babe! Bikini! Booty Shorts! So many possibilities for future hacks.

Thanks Ian b: This is amazing! I just looked and noticed the plastic film still on mine. It took impressive pics with the plastic, but I suspect the pics will be even better.

Shouldn't have opened this thread lol. I had convinced myself that the GG wouldn't take very good picture or function well. Now I have to get one. Thanks for all the real world pics!

Where is the setting to auto transfer, is that on the device and Gear Manager or the watch?
Thanks, Shane

Das, looks like you and I are the only ones that have this Gear all figured out, maximizing features, email notifications coming through to the Gear w no issues. I took a stab today w app watch styler at creating my own watch face. Here is a pix of it. You know once these developers start working on it and getting apps out, it is gonna be a bigger hit. I still think price needs to come down between $150-$200 to make it a bigger success.

Still love this photo nice and sharp with great color. For $299 worth every penny. Worth the bank just being early adopter and showing it off...

Since this is not waterproof or resitant.
Can it get wet at all? Like caught out in the rain while walking/running.
Wat about sweat and the like while exercising?

Nice pics. I find it funny how every reviewer poo-poo'd on the device but everyone that has used it has really liked it and the pictures are pretty good. Lord I don't need to spend another $300 but I just might.

On a different note. I dont receive message notifications. I use handcent and was wondering if this was causing a conflict
