With these cameras it isn't really necessary to zoom. If I am correct the lens is fixed and it is all done digitally. Which in essence means that you are cropping the pic straight from the camera, which will degrade the final pic either way. It is not a true zoom/ longer focal length.

Wow, I'm pleasantly surprised with the quality of the photos! Every review I saw of the Nexus 4 included the camera in the "cons" section. Maybe I'm just used to my iPhone 4 and the Droid Incredible before that, but I think these photos look great!

They do look a bit noisy, especically in low light shots which look like utter crap some times, but they're decent in day time.

yea...but the HDR above has the bus looking cool in HDR...great effect!

Here's two pictures taken in the sh**tiest fluorescent lighting in the world.

First one's without flash, second one with. Both at about 1.5X zoom.




I think the flash seems to add a yellowish hue to the pictures.

Also, don't see any reason to use *gasp* 8MP , 5MP is enough for most of my needs. I get enough cropping leeway even with 5 :thumbup:
