I gotta say. Money well spent. For starters, the bump is not bad at all. I actually like the way it sits in my hand. I havent charged my phone today im im still over 80%. And this is the battery right out of the box. I originally was going to hold out for a 1700 or 1800 mah battery. But the fact that their so expensive and don't offer nothing but a mere few hours more than the stock battery, forced me to just pick up the bigger capacity. If you want to use your Thunderbolt to it's full potential without having to turn off all the radios, dimming the screen, and shut off all updates(basically making your phone a brick). Do yourself a favor and pick this thing up.

I know there are a lot of discussions on here about different cases and cases for the extended battery so I just picked this one to share this with you all. I ordered a vent mount from HTCPedia.com a few days ago (I love it by the way) and today I got an email from them promoting the extended battery. However in that email they also mentioned a case to fix the extended battery to be out within a week. Here's the email (remember I just got this today so we should keep our eyes open):

"Do you find your HTC Thunderbolt dead without even going through the day?

If the answer to the above question is Yes, then you should consider upgrading to an extended battery for your HTC Thunderbolt. The extended battery offers 2750mAh of power, that is almost doubled than you 1400mAh standard battery.

I personally own this great 4G smartphone, and the first thing that I put on this phone was an extended battery. I did not even try the standard battery (that came with the phone) as I knew it would not last me through the day. If you are running a lot of apps on your phone you're most likely find your Thunderbolt dead in a matter of 3 of 4 hours. Not only running the apps drain the battery, but also the 4G network.

If you're planning to keep the HTC Thunderbolt as your smartphone then I would definitely recommend upgrading to the extended battery. It is $49.99 and if your order is over $50 you will qualify for a free, overnight shipping.

P.S. We are working on cases that will fit the extended battery for your HTC Thunderbolt. We should have something stock in about a 1 week.

Thank you,

Hopefully that means we should be seeing cases coming out very soon.

Awesome. I need a case for my Thunderbolt. Im not taking this battery off. It's too awesome. So im getting the first case available lol. It feels so good to have 4g on, have my screen bright, use a live wallpaper, sync all my apps, and still have over 60% of battery left at the end of the day. They should have just included the extended battery with the Thunderbolt. It's definitely NEEDED to fully enjoy your Thunderbolt.

Cool!
A case for the TBolt with extended battery would rock.

Then all I'll need is the mythic Multimedia Charging Dock and a wireless WiFi DLNA router for my TV, and I'll be totally set! :)
