After all this time not knowing how astrophotography mode worked on the Pixels I finally looked for a simple tutorial and realized I never placed my 3a on a tripod with night mode activated. So propped my 3a on this simple little phone holder in my closet and sure enough astrophotography mode kicked on! Today is rainy but expect some shots coming in the very near future with this feature around my city. The 3a captures a lesser 1 minute exposure than the 3-4 minutes that the flagships use but the results are amazing. Here's a quick sample from my closet which was dark enough to kick the mode on.

Ended up snapping a few last night but I was slightly disappointed because I thought I could use it for traffic tail light shots but the mode actually never kicked on until I pointed it at the sky. It would have been nice to use it when I wanted to while on a tripod. Here's what I snapped.

Hi folks! I'm lateraling over here from the 3 XL photos thread after mine gave up the ghost. Got a refurbished 3a XL from Daily Steals for $90 to tide me over until the Pixel 6 comes out, and have been very pleased so far -- this thing feels almost identical to my old 3 XL! Anyway, here are a couple of the first pics I took with the phone.

I bought a 3a for my nephew and gave it to him yesterday. His first proper phone. Just waiting for him to learn to use his camera properly. But he is 11 and loves it. Excellent little phone.
